Puttur, July 22: Academic success begins at home, and parents have an equally important role in shaping responsible and confident citizens. This message echoed at the Parents' Meeting held at Ambika Pre-University College, Nellikatte, where educators stressed that education should nurture values, discipline and character alongside academic excellence.
Presiding over the programme, Subramanya Nattoja, Chairman of the Ambika Group of Educational Institutions run by the Nattoja Foundation Trust, said education should produce individuals who contribute meaningfully to society and become role models for the nation.
He emphasised that discipline, self-control and equal learning opportunities are essential for every student. "Education is not limited to classroom learning. At Ambika, students are also introduced to yoga, meditation and pranayama to improve self-confidence, mental well-being and reduce stress," he said.
Guest speaker Avinash Kodenkiri, President of the Parent-Teacher Association for the current academic year, described the pre-university stage as one of the most crucial phases in a student's life. He said adolescence often brings emotional challenges and uncertainty, making timely guidance from parents and teachers extremely important.
He urged parents to spend quality time talking with their children, encouraging open communication and motivating them in their studies, adding that such support helps students grow into responsible citizens.
Principal Satyajit Upadhyaya briefed parents on the institution's academic activities and plans for the current academic year.
Rajashree S. Nattoja, Secretary of the Ambika Group of Educational Institutions, was present on the occasion. Vice Principal Vinutha Sale and members of the teaching faculty also attended the programme.
