Worried ITI graduate National Trade Certificate

Puttur, August 27, 2025During the digitization of National Trade Certificates for students who trained at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), various incorrect details have been recorded. The central government has initiated linking educational certificates, but due to officials’ errors, employees may face serious difficulties. Despite complaints, there has been no proper response from the concerned department.

According to Vijayavani News Report by Nishanth BillampadavuNational Trade Certificates are issued to students who complete training at ITIs. In 2015, the department introduced a digital system for the national ITI examination process to speed up certificate distribution. As part of this, certificates from students between 2007 and 2011 were also integrated into the digital system.
However, the trades in which training was received have changed. Along with the college addresses, even the states have changed. There are allegations that some certificate numbers also differ. Many individuals who hold ITI certificates have gone on to pursue higher education, including diplomas. Now, due to discrepancies in the ITI certificates, there is a risk that their higher education qualifications might be questioned as fraudulent..

 Ongoing Delays for 2013-15 Batch

The regional ITI introduced the semester system for the 2013-15 batch and moved towards computerizing the examination system. Due to some confusion during this transition, N.C.T. certificates have still not been issued. Even though appropriate information has been sent from the training institutes, no solution has been found. Although the 2013-15 batch completed ITI, without the N.T.C., they cannot pursue higher studies and must repeat two more years of ITI training.
During the digitization of ITI records, many issues were created in the certificates. Despite reporting these problems to various central grievance departments, no response has been received regarding their correction. In the future, there is a high possibility that employees will face problems as the documents provided to companies will not be valid.

Central System Hinders Corrections

Those facing issues between manual and online certificates should contact the local government ITI through the ITI they studied at and send information to the department. Since the online process was conducted from New Delhi, the correction process must also take place there. Due to errors made by the officials, certificate holders are now in a state of confusion.

No Response to Complaints: Those noticing the issues with online certificates have lodged complaints with the Industrial Training and Employment Department. However, these complaints are being dismissed without any explanation. There are also allegations that the department is not taking any steps to correct the certificates.
