Puttur MLA Urges Urgent Staff Recruitment for PUDA Office to Address Delays
Sunday, June 22, 2025
Puttur, June 22, 2025:In an effort to improve the efficiency of operations at the Puttur Urban Planning Authority (PUDA) office, Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai has formally reached out to Deepa Cholan, the Secretary of the Urban Development Department, requesting the urgent hiring of more staff. This appeal, made on Saturday, underscores the increasing delays in file processing caused by a significant shortage of personnel, which has been creating considerable inconvenience for the public.
The PUDA office in Puttur, which serves a vast taluk jurisdiction, handles critical tasks such as issuing Form 9/11 for rural areas. However, the limited workforce has led to a backlog, with citizens facing prolonged delays in obtaining essential documents for property and construction purposes. "The staff shortage is hampering timely service delivery, and public complaints are on the rise," said Rai, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
The MLA's request calls for swift action to recruit additional personnel to ensure smoother operations at the PUDA office. Anwar Kasim, a PUDA member, was present during the submission of the appeal, underscoring the collective concern over the issue.
With Puttur’s growing administrative demands, residents are hopeful that the state government will address the staffing crisis promptly to alleviate their hardships.
