Sculptor Ramesh Poojari begins crafting Lord Ganesha’s idol at Vishwa Sankirna, Puttur, for the 68th Kille Maidana Ganeshotsava under Sri Devata Samiti.

Puttur, July 30, 2025: The 68th edition of the much-anticipated Kille Maidana Ganeshotsava kicked off with a grand ceremonial start Tuesday (July 29,2025), as the idol creation process for Lord Ganesha commenced under the auspices of the Sri Devata Samiti. This traditional event took place at the bustling Vishwa Sankirna venue located on Court Road, with Vedamurthy Subrahmanya Holla at the helm and the esteemed presence of Sri Devata Samiti President Abhijit Shetty Nellikatte. The revered sculptor Ramesh Poojari had the honor of initiating the artistic endeavor, maintaining the custom of starting the creation on Nagara Panchami day at the Kille Maidan. The town of Puttur is set to come alive with the vibrant festivities in the days ahead.

Invitation Released for Kille Maidana Ganeshotsava 2025

The ceremony for the unveiling of the invitation for the upcoming seven-day public Kille Maidana Ganeshotsava took place Tuesday, marking the event's 68th year at Kille Maidan. Renowned figure Abhijit Shetty Nellikatte underscored the festival's importance, stating it has flourished for 67 years under Lord Ganesha's divine will and will continue to do so with collective support. This grand affair is set to uphold Puttur's storied tradition of devotion and communal unity.

Eminent attendees included Puttur Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple Management Committee President Panjigudde Eshwar Bhat, Chief Secretary Dinesh Kulal, Treasurer T. Dharanayak, and notable individuals such as Geeta Shettinellikatte, U.P. Ramakrishna, Dinakara Shettinellikatte, Ganapati Pai, Ratnakar Acharya, Sudarshan Shetty, Vasantha Nayak, Ganesh Shetty Nellikatti, Sudesh Kumar Chikkaputtur, Surendra Nehru Nagar, Shivaram Rai, and B. Kittanna Gowda. Additionally, idol creation assistant Radhesh Acharya and Vishwa Sankirna owner Damodar Acharya graced the occasion with their presence, highlighting the significance of the cultural event for the community.
