Devotees at Polya Sri Lakshmi Venkatramana Mutt in Puttur discuss plans for the 4th Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava during a preparatory meeting on July 20, 2025.

Puttur, July 24, 2025: The Polya Sri Lakshmi Venkatramana Mutt in Kabaka, Puttur, is preparing to host its 4th annual Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava on August 27, 2025, with an emphasis on eco-consciousness and tradition. A preliminary meeting, presided over by Mutt President Umashankar Edurkala, was held on July 20 to finalize preparations for the event that coincides with the auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi.

The meeting kicked off with a review of the previous year's financial report, underlining the organization's commitment to transparency. The festival committee was then formed, with Purushottama Gowda Moolekadu as president, Mohana Gowda Kabaka as vice president, Sudarshan Gowda Mura as secretary, and Raghava Gowda Urimajalu as treasurer. Additional members were appointed to manage various aspects of the festival.

Eco-Friendly Celebrations Planned

In line with eco-friendly practices, the Mutt has chosen a colorless Ganapati idol for worship, symbolizing environmental sustainability. The celebrations will include a barefoot Jalsthambhana procession and a no-DJ policy to maintain the sacred ambiance. This approach has become synonymous with the Mutt’s festivities, striking a chord with devotees who prioritize both tradition and environmental protection.

Single day festival will be celebrated on August 27 in keeping with Hindu customs. Attendees from Puttur and nearby areas are anticipated to participate in this cultural and spiritual extravaganza dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the deity of wisdom and remover of obstacles.

Community Engagement and Devotion

This Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava stands out for its successful amalgamation of spirituality and community engagement. The Mutt’s efforts in promoting sustainable festivities have been widely appreciated, serving as a benchmark for other organizations hosting similar events. Devotees look forward to the celebration, which is set to reinforce the local cultural and religious heritage.
