Puttur: Students Urged to Embrace Education, Culture, and Service at Nellikatte Ambika PU College Event
Puttur, July 5, 2025: Students should remember where they came from and show gratitude to teachers and elders, said DYSP Arun N. Gowda at the Ambika Pre-University College’s Student Council inauguration. The event, organized by the Nattoja Foundation Trust, saw Arun reminding everyone that student life isn’t just about textbooks. He pressed the point: build a solid foundation with culture, values, and teamwork.

Arun also got real about what education should be. “It’s not only about academics—build your character and give back to society,” he told the crowd. He urged students to serve the nation and hold onto their cultural roots while aiming for quality education. The message? Sure, chase those marks, but don’t forget to be a decent human being along the way.
Sub-Inspector Anjaneya Reddy attended the event and didn’t hold back—he emphasized just how important knowledge is these days, calling it unmatched. He also warned students about getting sucked into their phones, saying mobiles can really mess with a healthy lifestyle if you’re not careful. Reddy advised everyone to steer clear of distractions, especially their phones, and focus on their studies instead. He wrapped up by reminding students to understand their rights and duties, and made it clear: nobody’s above the law, period.

The event saw Principal Satyajit Upadhyaya administering the oath to the newly elected student council members. Guests facilitated the ceremonial handover of the college flag from former student leader Pavan Bharadwaj to the new council. Former president of the Parents-Teachers Association Shivarama Alva, student leaders J. Shreekrishna Nattoja, and Sannidhi were present on the dais.
The program began with a prayer by students Shridevi, Ananya, Samanvika, Srushti, and Shama. Mukta welcomed the gathering, Sanvi delivered the vote of thanks, and Shrinidhi compered the event.
