Balnadu Bhattivinayaka Temple in Puttur Concludes Ashtamangala Rituals for Renovation

Balnadu Bhattivinayaka Temple in Puttur concludes 4-day rituals for renovation, guided by tantri Kemmije Nagesh. Devotees throng.

Puttur, July 11, 2025: The ancient Balnadu Sri Bhattivinayaka Temple has recently completed a four-day religious programs from July 5th to July 10th, as a part of the corrective measures post an Ashtamangala Prashna Chintana for the ongoing restoration project. These ceremonies were conducted under the auspices of the esteemed temple tantry, Kemmije Nagesh Tantry, and drew a massive congregation of devotees eager to take part in the divine proceedings.

The ceremonial marathon kicked off on July 5th with the customary morning prayers, including Devata Prarthana, Swasti Punyahavachana, and a 12 coconuts Mahaganapati Homa, signaling the inception of the Samhita Kalasha rituals. The day's activities were enriched by rituals such as Sarpa Samskara Mangala, Ashlesha Bali, Vatu Aaradhana, Nagadevaru's Tambila, and Rik Samhita Parayana. Additionally, the devotees witnessed the grandeur of the Panchavimshati Kalasha Puja, Samhita Kalashabhisheka, Mahapuja, Durga Puja, Sudarshana Homa, Aghora Homa, Sumangali Aaradhana, and Baadaakarshana Uchchhatana.

On July 9th, the temple hosted a bunch of rituals—Ganapati Homa, Tilahoma, Bhagavad Gita Parayana, and Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana. In the evening, there was Mahapuja and Shuddhi Kriyas. The next day, July 10th, was the big finish. They had Bimba Shuddhi, Kalasha Puja, Prayaschitta Panchagavya Vagaha, Sayujya Puja, Navaka Kalashabhisheka, Mahapuja, and Annasantarpana. That wrapped up the ceremonies.

Devappa P.R., the temple’s administrative head, Chanila Thimmappa Shetty, who’s the Honorary President of the Renovation Committee, President Chidananda Bailadi, and the management committee members were all there. Past presidents and a lot of regular attendees showed up too. The rituals were carried out with a lot of care and attention to detail. This event is a major moment in the temple’s restoration, showing just how important the temple is to the community, both spiritually and culturally.
