Puttur, July 22: The monthly Yakshagana Talamaddale programme organised by Shri Anjaneya Yakshagana Kala Sangha, Boluvaru, Puttur, was held at Shri Balamuri Vidya Ganapathi Temple, Bannur, on Tuesday (July 21).
The troupe presented 'Partha Sarathya', a Yakshagana prasanga written by the renowned poet Devidas, drawing an appreciative audience of Yakshagana enthusiasts and devotees.
The musical ensemble featured Ananda Savanur and Nithish Kumar Yenkannamule as Bhagavatas, while Muralidhara Kalluraya, Achyutha Pangannaya, and Taranath Savanur provided accompaniment on the chende and maddale.
In the main performance, Gundyadka Eshwara Bhat portrayed Kaurava, Guddappa Balya played Lord Krishna, Mambadi Venugopal Bhat appeared as Balarama, and Badekkila Chandrashekhara Bhat enacted the role of Arjuna.
The programme was coordinated by Bhaskara Barya and sponsored by Bonanthaya Shivashankara Bhat.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Chandrashekhara Bhat, while Subrahmanya Bhat, Manager of the temple, proposed the vote of thanks.
The monthly Talamaddale series continues to promote the rich heritage of Yakshagana and preserve Karnataka's traditional performing arts through scholarly performances.
