Bengaluru/Mangaluru, July 25: The Karnataka Government has announced a fresh round of administrative transfers, appointing Rahul Ratnam Pandey, IAS, as the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) with immediate effect.

Rahul Ratnam Pandey, a 2018-batch IAS officer, was serving as the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL), Bengaluru. He takes over the Mangaluru City Corporation following the transfer of Ravichandra Nayak, KAS.

In another key posting, Ravi Kumar M.R., IAS (2012 batch), who has been serving as Commissioner of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Kolar district with effect from August 1, 2026. He will succeed Dr. Ravi M.R., IAS, who is retiring on July 31, 2026 upon attaining superannuation.

Following Rahul Ratnam Pandey's transfer, A.R. Ravi, Joint Director in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, has been appointed as the Managing Director of KSMSCL, Bengaluru, with immediate effect.

The transfer orders were issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Services-1) through a notification dated July 24, 2026, in the name of the Governor of Karnataka.

The appointment of a new Commissioner is expected to be significant for Mangaluru as the civic body continues to implement key urban infrastructure, sanitation and public service initiatives.
