Mangaluru, 19 August 2026: BPL and Antyodaya ration cardholders in Dakshina Kannada have been asked to complete their e-KYC as part of measures linked to the Anna Bhagya scheme. Dakshina Kannada District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority chairman Bharath Mundodi directed officials to ensure that eligible ration cardholders complete the e-KYC process.
He was speaking at a meeting of the district-level Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority held at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium on Tuesday. Mundodi also directed officials concerned to visit fair price shops twice a month in every taluk to monitor the implementation of the Anna Bhagya scheme and address issues faced by ration cardholders.
102 buses received under Shakti scheme
Officials informed the meeting that 62 buses had been added to the Mangaluru division and 40 buses to the Puttur division under the Shakti scheme. Meeting directed officials to prioritise the restoration of bus routes that were discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic. Move is expected to improve public transport connectivity, particularly on routes that have remained without regular services since the pandemic.
Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries verified
Regarding the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, officials informed the meeting that 100% verification had been completed in cases where financial assistance was deposited into beneficiaries' accounts after their death. Officials also reported that 87% of the Gruha Jyothi survey had been completed in Dakshina Kannada.
Meeting reviewed the implementation of various guarantee schemes in the district and discussed measures to improve monitoring and delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Nirwade Vinayak Karbhari, Chief Planning Officer Vishwanath Mudajji, Planning Estimation and Evaluation Officer K.S. Sudham, district-level Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee vice-president Joachim D'Souza and other committee members and officials attended the meeting.
