Bengaluru, 13 August 2026: Diploma students seeking direct admission to the second year or third semester of engineering courses through DCET-2026 now have a clear timeline for the first round of seat allotment, following a revised schedule issued by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
The revised schedule gives eligible candidates time until 11 a.m. on August 17 to enter their preferred engineering choices in order of priority. KEA has also published the updated seat matrix for the 2026-27 admission process on August 12.
The first-round seat allotment results will be announced after 2 p.m. on August 17. Candidates can then exercise their choices from 4 p.m. on August 17 until August 19.
Candidates who select Choice-1 will have to complete the fee payment process between August 18 and 20 and download their Seat Confirmation Slip. They must report to the allotted college with the required documents and confirmation slip by 5.30 p.m. on August 21.
The revised schedule is particularly important for diploma students planning to continue their technical education through lateral entry into engineering. With the seat matrix now available, candidates can compare available seats and make their choices carefully rather than treating the option-entry process as a routine formality.
