Bengaluru, 21 August 2026: Candidates applying for the recruitment of 15,000 teachers in Karnataka’s primary and secondary schools can now refer to an official FAQ released by the School Education and Literacy Department to clarify common questions about the recruitment process.
School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa said separate district-wise notifications have been issued with detailed information about the recruitment. However, as several candidates had raised doubts regarding reservation, educational qualifications, age limits and other eligibility conditions, the department has published the FAQ for their convenience.
Minister expressed confidence that the FAQ would help resolve many of the questions candidates may have before submitting their applications.
Candidates advised to check eligibility before applying
Minister urged candidates to read the relevant recruitment notification completely before applying and verify that they meet all eligibility requirements. Candidates should also ensure that they submit only the correct and required documents along with their applications, he said.
If any doubts remain even after going through the notification and FAQ, candidates can contact the department through the following helpline numbers:
- 080-22483145
- 080-22483140
- 9449588020
Government warns against recruitment fraud
Government has also reiterated that measures are being taken to ensure that the teacher recruitment process is conducted transparently. Minister warned candidates against individuals who may promise to secure jobs in exchange for money or claim that they can facilitate malpractice during the examination.
Candidates who encounter anyone demanding money by promising a government teaching job or offering to enable malpractice have been urged to immediately bring the matter to the department’s notice.
“Recruitment will be conducted transparently based on merit, eligibility and the prescribed rules. No form of malpractice will be permitted,” the Minister said.
Department's FAQ is expected to help candidates understand the recruitment requirements before submitting their applications and reduce confusion over eligibility and other provisions.
