Based on this complaint, police registered a case and arrested Sudarshan Pai, who was produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.

Incident was not treated by police as a one-sided complaint. A counter-complaint was also registered in connection with the confrontation, with allegations arising from the altercation at the service centre.
