Puttur, 10 September 2026: A meeting to present the accounts of the public Sri Varmahalakshmi Puja held on August 28, along with the selection and felicitation of new office-bearers of the Seetha Parivara, was held at Subhadra Auditorium on September 7.
The meeting was held under the guidance of Arun Kumar Puthila, convener of the Puthila Parivar Seva Trust, and was presided over by Veena Ballal, president of the Varmahalakshmi Puja Committee. Treasurer Prajwal Ghate presented the detailed expenditure statement of the Varmahalakshmi Puja programme.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Kumar Puthila said the third annual Varmahalakshmi Puja was organised on a larger and more elaborate scale than the celebrations held during the previous two years.
He said sarees, turmeric-kumkum, bangles and other puja materials were systematically distributed as prasada to women who participated from various villages of Puttur taluk. Annadana was also organised for thousands of devotees who attended the programme.
Puthila expressed his gratitude to all office-bearers, volunteers and workers who contributed their time and efforts towards organising the event. Following the presentation of the accounts, the remaining amount from the programme was handed over by the women’s committee office-bearers to the president of the Trust.
New Seetha Parivara Team
The meeting was followed by the unanimous election of new office-bearers of the Seetha Parivara. Mallika Prasad was elected honorary president, while Prema Radhakrishna Rai was elected president. Prema Munduru and Annapoorna C. Rao were elected general secretaries.
Smitha Naik, Veena Ballal, Pushpa Rajesh, Rajatha Girish Bhat and Veena Parladka were elected vice-presidents. Pavithra Doddadka, Swayam Prabha, Pushpa Achar, Sulochana and Annapoorneshwari Ballal were elected secretaries. More than 55 women were also appointed as members of the Seetha Parivara.
The meeting also served as an occasion to recognise the efforts of those involved in organising the Varmahalakshmi Puja and to formally begin the activities of the newly constituted Seetha Parivara team.
