Five Students Secure First Ranks in PG Programmes at St Philomena College
Puttur, September 2, 2026: Five students of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, have secured first ranks in various postgraduate programmes, marking a significant academic achievement for the institution.
Rank holders are Sneha Rose Jacob, who secured the first rank in MSW with a CGPA of 8.85; Chasmika T., first in M.Com. with 9.08; Nithish, first in M.Sc. Physics with 8.98; Anupama T., first in M.Sc. Mathematics with 8.58; and Nireeksha R., who secured the first rank in MCA with a CGPA of 9.39.
Ranks were awarded in accordance with the college's autonomous academic regulations and evaluation system. Institution said the achievements reflect the students' academic performance and its focus on subject knowledge, critical thinking, research orientation, technical competence and employability skills.
First Graduation Ceremony of St Philomena College is scheduled to be held on September 11, during which rank certificates will be presented to the meritorious students. Occasion is expected to mark an important milestone in the academic journey of the autonomous institution while providing an opportunity to recognise outstanding student achievement.
Autonomous status of St Philomena College has given the institution greater academic freedom and responsibility to design curricula according to changing academic requirements, update teaching methodologies and implement its own evaluation framework.
College has also been focusing on strengthening academic competence along with holistic personality development among students. Achievement of students across five postgraduate programmes is being viewed by the institution as a reflection of the sustained academic efforts of both students and faculty. College management, Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff congratulated the rank holders on their achievement.
