Puttur, 5 September 2026: A new Computer Science Lab and Smart Classrooms were inaugurated at Vivekananda Pre University College, Puttur, on August 31 as part of the institution’s Smart Campus initiative. Initiative is aimed at strengthening technology-enabled learning and providing students with a modern academic environment.
New Computer Science Lab was inaugurated by Krishnakumar Shetty, President of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur. Smart Classrooms were inaugurated by Dr. K. M. Krishna Bhat, former Secretary of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, and Sharath Srinivas, COO and Co-Founder of The Web People, Puttur.
A formal programme was held at the Vaidehi Auditorium following the inauguration. Ravindra P., President of the College Governing Council, and Devicharan Rai M., Principal, were present on the dais. Programme also recognised the contributions of firms and individuals who supported the timely completion of the new Computer Science Lab and Smart Classrooms. They were felicitated for their valuable contribution to the initiative.
College expressed its gratitude to its parent institution, Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur, for its guidance and continued support in implementing the Smart Campus initiative. New facilities are expected to provide students with improved access to digital learning resources and technology-based academic activities.
Parents, heads of various institutions under the Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students attended the programme. Initiative marks another step by Vivekananda Pre University College towards strengthening its campus infrastructure and creating a more technology-oriented learning environment for students.
