Puttur, June 21, 2025: Train services have resumed on the Yedakumari-Shiribagilu railway section after a temporary disruption caused by a boulder landslide early this morning. The incident, reported at 4:23 AM, saw large boulders and debris fall onto the tracks, halting operations and causing significant delays. Thanks to the swift action of railway authorities, the tracks have been cleared, and services are back on track with a temporary speed restriction of 20 kmph.

The landslide occurred near a tunnel, with images showing massive rocks obstructing the railway line, surrounded by uprooted vegetation and scattered debris. The first train to resume its journey was the KSR Bengaluru – Kannur Express (Train No. 16511), which departed Yedakumeri at 9:18 AM, despite a delay of over six hours. Following closely, the SMVT Bengaluru – Murudeshwar Express (Train No. 16585) left Donigal at 9:34 AM, also delayed by about six hours.
