Puttur, June 30, 2025: The Mahalingeshwara Temple premise Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava Committee just unveiled the official invite for the 59th Ganeshotsava, and folks are already gearing up. The celebration’s set for August 27th to 30th, right at the temple grounds—a huge deal for locals who treat this festival like the highlight of the year. The invitation card launch happened at the Adarsha Hospital auditorium on June 29. Dr. M.K.Prasad, who’s basically the guiding force behind the committee, did the honors. He didn’t just stick to the script; he spoke about how Ganeshotsava is more than just a religious gathering. According to him, it’s a chance to fire up some good old-fashioned devotion and, a bit of patriotism too. In his words, it’s not just about worshipping Lord Ganesha—it’s about coming together, showing unity, and feeling proud of it.

A slew of notable committee members attended the event, with Honorary President Ravindra Shetty Nuliyalu, President Sujeendra Prabhu, and Working President Radhakrishnanambila leading the charge. General Secretary Ashok Kumble, Vice-Presidents Vishwanath Gowda Bannur, Sudhir Shetty, and Sati Nyak were also present, alongside Joint Secretary Neelanth Bolwaru, Treasurer Srinivas Mulya, and representatives from Hindu organizations. The strong turnout made it clear—there’s some real excitement in the community about the upcoming festival.

Puttur Temple Premise Ganeshotsava-2025; Preparations and Events


The committee announced that the Ganesha idol-making ceremony (Ganesha Vigraha Rachane Muhurta) and the Chhappara Muhurta will take place on July 14, 2025. Notably, the Ganesha idol will be crafted near the temple premises this year, adding a local touch to the festivities. A series of competitions will commence in the following days, including essay writing, chess, and Ganesha drawing contests at Shri Ramakrishna High School, as well as devotional song competitions, Bhagavad Gita recitation, rangoli, and clay Ganesha idol-making contests at the festival venue.

Ashok Kumble, General Secretary of the committee, shared details of the planned events, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the competitions. “These activities aim to engage the community, especially the youth, in celebrating our traditions while fostering creativity and devotion,” he said.

The 59th Ganeshotsava is expected to draw thousands of devotees, continuing Puttur’s rich tradition of celebrating Lord Ganesha with fervor and unity. The committee has called for active participation from the community to ensure the festival’s success.
