Karnataka Bank Opens Second Branch in Puttur, Its 964th Nationwide

Puttur, July 14, 2025: The Karnataka Bank Ltd, a trusted name since 1924, celebrated the inauguration of its 964th branch, its second in Puttur, at Prashanth Mahal, Darbe. General Manager B.S. Raj, the chief guest, highlighted the bank’s century-long role as an economic backbone of the society and nation, emphasizing its consistent profitability and customer trust despite challenges. The event featured a CSR donation to St. Philomena College for computer purchases, underscoring the bank’s commitment to education and social welfare. Raj urged customers to stay vigilant against fraudulent calls, advising against sharing OTPs or passwords to ensure secure banking.

The Karnataka Bank Ltd, A Legacy of Trust and Growth

The event was a testament to the bank’s storied tradition, with the opening of the fifth branch in Puttur 80 years ago. Karnataka Bank now boasts a network of 964 branches across the country, channeling 2% of its profits towards educational, health, and social initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility. The bank’s iconic Ganapathi Mandala logo, which was created 55 years ago with the assistance of Jnanpith awardee Shivarama Karanth and the Shringeri Math, signifies its deeply entrenched values and commitment to the community.

This latest branch opening represents a significant milestone in Karnataka Bank’s ongoing narrative of trust and expansion, and is a reflection of the unwavering support from the community, farmers, and legal professionals that have been instrumental in shaping its growth trajectory. The day saw the unveiling of a Mini e-Lobby by General Manager Jayanagaraj Rao, emphasizing the bank’s integration of digital services for customer convenience. The event also honored entrepreneur Savanur Sitaram Rai, who provided the premises for the new branch, as well as retired staff members Venugopal Bhatt, Ishwar Bhat Pulu, Mahalingeshwara Bhat, and K.S. Bhatt for their outstanding contributions to the bank’s success. A.G.M. Vishwanath S.R. welcomed guests, Branch Manager Swarnalatha led prayers, and Senior Manager Srisha facilitated. Vice Principal Vijay Kumar Moleyar accepted the CSR cheque, joined by well-wishers and staff.
