
Vivekananda Polytechnic Puttur Dedicates Urimajalu K Rama Bhat Auditorium

Puttur, July 3, 2025: Vivekananda Polytechnic, a cornerstone of technical education under the Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, marked a historic moment on July 2 with the inauguration of the newly renovated “Urimajalu K. Rama Bhat Auditorium.” Established in 1986 to empower rural students with technical education, the institution paid tribute to Urimajalu K. Rama Bhat, a pivotal figure in its foundation and growth. The event also served as the induction ceremony for first-year students, blending legacy with new beginnings.
Honoring a Visionary’s Legacy
Raghunath Rao, owner of Darbe Rajesh Power Press, inaugurated the auditorium. In his speech, he highlighted Rama Bhat’s significant role in strengthening educational institutions, describing him as an “Ajathashatru” and hoping students would be inspired to serve the nation. Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat stated that dedicating the auditorium in Rama Bhat’s name would ensure his legacy continues to motivate progress. Rangamoorthy S.R. added that Rama Bhat established a strong foundation for educational institutions, emphasizing that continuing his work is the best way to honor him.A Commitment to Nation-BuildingVishweshwara Bhat Bangaradka, president of the administrative board, emphasized the institution’s mission. “Vivekananda Polytechnic is driven by a vision of nation-building. We strive to shape responsible citizens with a strong cultural foundation,” he affirmed. Presiding over the event, Prabakara Bhat Kalladka, president of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, described Rama Bhat as a champion of Hindutva and education. “Naming this auditorium after him is a feather in our crown. His contributions to political, social, and educational fields were transformative. Let this institution foster scientific progress and national pride,” he urged.
The event was attended by notable figures, including treasurer Narasimha Pai, board members Ravi Mungli Mane, Eshwara Chandra Ushamali, Sanath Kumar, Achyuta Prabhu, and veterans like K.V. Narayana Vatsalarajni, Srinivasa Pai, and others. Principal Muralidhara Y.S. welcomed the gathering, stating, “Urimajalu K. Rama Bhat is our guiding force. Our mission is to provide value-based technical education to rural students, fostering patriotic citizens.” Raviram S., head of the Civil Engineering Department, delivered the vote of thanks, while T. Jayalakshmi led the prayers. The program was compered by Gururaj and Sahana B.S.
