Puttur, August 3, 2025: A recent inspection by Mysuru Division's DRM M O Mudith Mittal at the Kabaka Puttur Railway Station in Kabaka, a pivotal junction in Karnataka's transport network, has brought the station's aesthetic and functional concerns to the forefront. In his visit, Mittal underscored the importance of enhancing the station’s appeal through initiatives such as planting saplings and streamlining signage for improved commuter guidance. Despite these proposed improvements, the persistent problem of inadequate parking facilities remains a significant source of aggravation for travelers. Senior Commercial Division Manager Lohiteshwar, Chief Project Manager Anand Bharati, Belandur Gram Panchayat Vice-President Jayanth, and Railway Passengers’ Association members, including Shankar Kalmadka, Suresh Kaniyooru, Shrikar, Sudesh, Kaushik, and Pavan, were present during the inspection. The DRM issued directives to officials to prioritize developmental works to address commuter concerns.

Parking Woes Plague Kabaka Puttur Station

The lack of sufficient parking facilities at Kabaka Puttur Railway Station is a growing concern for passengers, as vehicles remain unsecured due to inadequate management. Despite several tender invitations for the parking space, no contractor has come forward to address the issue. This persistent problem has raised safety concerns and caused inconvenience to the daily commuter and occasional travelers. The station's Senior Commercial Division Manager, Lohiteshwar, has pledged to take immediate action should any contractor express interest in managing the parking lot. The current situation continues to pose challenges for those relying on the station for their transportation needs.

9 Key Passenger Demands: A Call for Action

4) Restart Navayuga Express via Hassan-Miraj-Pune: Reviving a crucial route for long-distance travelers.
