Puttur, July 20: The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has invited online applications for educational scholarships for the children of Beedi, Cine and Limestone & Dolomite Mine workers for the academic year 2026-27.
The scholarship scheme is available for students studying from Class I to Class XII, as well as those pursuing ITI, Polytechnic, Degree and Professional Courses. Eligible children of registered workers can receive financial assistance based on their course and level of education.
According to the official notification, scholarship applications must be submitted online through the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in.
Under the scheme, students are eligible for the following annual assistance:
- Classes I to IV: ₹1,000
- Classes V to VIII: ₹1,500
- Classes IX & X: ₹2,000
- Classes XI & XII: ₹3,000
- ITI, Polytechnic & Degree Courses (including B.Sc. Agriculture): ₹6,000
- Professional Courses: ₹25,000
Applicants must complete One Time Registration (OTR) using Aadhaar on the National Scholarship Portal. The scholarship amount will be credited directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) system.
Important Dates
- Pre-Matric Scholarship (Class I–X): Last date – August 31, 2026
- Post-Matric Scholarship (Class XI and above): Last date – October 31, 2026
Educational institutions are required to register on the National Scholarship Portal, create Institutional IDs and Nodal Officer IDs, verify student applications and submit them before the stipulated deadline.
