Puttur 29: The student union election for the academic year 2026-27 was held at Vivekananda College of Arts, Commerce and Science (Autonomous), with students electing their new representatives.
Pranav, a third-year B.Com student, has been elected as the Student Union President. Shreyas K.R. from the third-year BCA department has been elected as the Secretary, while A. Vidyalakshmi from the third-year B.Sc department has been chosen as the Joint Secretary.
College Principal Prof. Sri Krishna Ganaraja Bhat congratulated the newly elected student representatives and wished them success in their responsibilities.
The election process was conducted under the guidance of the college election team. Dr. Arun Prakash, Election Officer, Student Welfare Officer and Head of the Department of Economics, along with Dr. Manmohan M, Head of the Kannada Department and Special Officer, and Dr. Vidya S, Head of the Sociology Department and Special Officer (Teacher Development), coordinated the election activities.
Members of the college election committee also contributed to the smooth conduct of the student union election.
The newly elected student leaders are expected to play a key role in representing student concerns and organising academic and extracurricular activities during the new academic year.
