Puttur, July 25: Residents across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasaragod are likely to experience a mix of sunshine, clouds, and intermittent showers until 8:00 AM on July 26, offering a temporary break from the persistent monsoon rains.
According to the latest weather outlook, light showers may occur from the morning, with scattered rain expected again after noon. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in parts of the coastal belt. Uttara Kannada is expected to continue receiving intermittent rainfall.
For many people, the reduced rainfall may provide a short window for travel, farming activities, construction work, and other outdoor tasks. However, weather experts advise residents not to assume the monsoon has weakened permanently.
A fresh low-pressure circulation is likely to develop over the West Bengal coast on July 26, which could strengthen monsoon activity and bring increased rainfall to Karnataka over the following two to three days. The situation is still being monitored.
In the Malnad region, Kodagu and Hassan districts are expected to see cloudy skies with light drizzle, while Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga may receive intermittent light to moderate rain.
Across North Interior Karnataka, only Belagavi and Dharwad are likely to receive scattered showers, with most other districts expected to remain partly cloudy.
In South Interior Karnataka, isolated showers are forecast for Mysuru, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and Tumakuru districts, while the remaining areas are expected to witness mostly sunny conditions with passing clouds.
Authorities and residents, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas, are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts as rainfall patterns could change quickly if the expected weather system strengthens.
