Puttur, August 8, 2026: Adarsha Multipurpose Cooperative Society in Puttur recorded a total business turnover of ₹1,093.83 crore and earned a profit of ₹2.60 crore during the financial year 2025–26, said society president K. Seetharama Rai Savanur.
He was speaking after presiding over the society’s annual general body meeting held at the Sannidhi Hall of Prashanth Mahal in Darbe, Puttur, on Saturday.
The society will pay a 19% dividend to its members based on its performance during the year, Rai said. He added that the society aims to increase the dividend to 25% over the next two to three years by strengthening its financial performance.
The society is also planning to change its name to Adarsha Credit Co-operative Society. Permission has been obtained to expand its operations to Udupi and Madikeri, and a branch is planned to be opened in Madikeri in December.
Rai said the society plans to open two or three more branches initially and then pause further expansion until it reaches an annual profit of ₹10 crore. Expansion through new branches will be considered thereafter, he said.
The maximum loan limit for members has been increased from ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore, while the limit for gold loans has been raised from ₹25 lakh to ₹50 lakh.
₹6 Crore Building Coming Up in Savanur
A new building for the society is under construction on its own site in Savanur at an estimated cost of around ₹6 crore. Efforts are being made to have the building inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar as part of the society’s silver jubilee celebrations, Rai said.
Vice-president N. Sundar Rai Savanur and directors B. Mahabala Rai Bolanthur, Jayaprakash Rai Chokkadi, Ashwin L. Shetty Savanur, S.M. Bapu Saheb, K. Ravindranath Shetty Kenya, N. Ramaiah Rai Kedambady, Chikkappa Naik Ariyadka, Seetharama Shetty B. Mangalore, V.V. Narayana Bhat Narimogaru, Jairaj Bhandary Puttur, Mahadeva M. Mangalore, Poornima S. Alva, Yamuna S. Rai Guttupal and Rashmi S. Rai were present.
Retired employees Manoj Kumar and Surekha B. were felicitated during the meeting. Awards were also presented to branches that recorded outstanding performance.
General Manager Vasanth Jalady presented the annual report. AGM Sunad Raj Shetty presented the proceedings of the previous general body meeting, while Puttur branch manager Pavan presented the memorandum. Sales Officer Sridhar Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
