Bengaluru, August 28: Karnataka Government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to examine criminal ses pending before various courts in the State and make appropriate recommendations regarding their withdrawal. Order was issued by the Karnataka Government Secretariat on August 28, 2026, under official memorandum No. SASHA 09 CSC 2026.
Six-member Cabinet Sub-Committee will be headed by Priyank Kharge, Minister for Home, Information Technology and Biotechnology, and E-Governance.

According to the memorandum, the committee has been constituted to review criminal cases pending before different courts in Karnataka and make suitable recommendations on whether such cases should be withdrawn.
Home Department will provide the necessary assistance to the Cabinet Sub-Committee in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Karnataka Government (Transaction of Business) Rules and the government circular dated March 15, 2025. Order was issued by J. Kumaraswamy, Under Secretary to Government (Cabinet).
