Vitla, August 9, 2026: Society must work towards creating awareness about superstitions and harmful habits, while eliminating distorted mindsets and conflicting attitudes, said Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji of Sri Durgamahalakshmi Kshetra, Sridhama, Manila.
He stressed the need to encourage co-dining and harmonious living in every household and said efforts should be made to preserve Indian culture while also taking its values to Western countries. “Sridhama is gradually emerging as an Atmadhama for the world and a centre of faith for people,” he said.
The Swamiji was speaking at the 48-day mass Lakshmi Puja programme organised at Sri Sridhama Sri Durgamahalakshmi Kshetra, Manila, as part of the Varmahalakshmi Vrata celebrations.
Former MLA Shakuntala T. Shetty, Paivalike Palace representative Rangatraya Arasu, Dakshina Kannada BJP treasurer Sanjaya Prabhu of Mangaluru, entrepreneur Srinivasa Pundalik Shet, Assistant Professor at Kasaragod Government College Vedavathi S. Madhur, Dhanubelchapada, who portrays the Gulagajja Dhruva role at the Udyavara Bhagavathi Kshetra, Parambala Sri Mahammayi Temple chief priest Kiran Kumar Kayyaru, Vishnumurthy Temple Management Committee president Ganesh Kumar Delanthamajalu, committee president Harish Bottari and Revathi Perne were present.
Somappa Poojary welcomed the gathering. Chennappa Erugallu proposed the vote of thanks, while Satish Kumar Kapu compered the programme.
