Bengaluru, August 29, 2026: Karnataka Government has issued detailed guidelines for organising Prajaseva Abhiyana meetings across the State, with the programme set to begin on September 5, 2026.
Initiative aims to bring government grievance redressal closer to citizens by providing a platform to hear public complaints and ensure timely and appropriate action. As per the government’s latest instructions, Prajaseva Abhiyana meetings will be held every month on Saturdays in all districts under the leadership of the district in-charge ministers and local MLAs.
Grama One and Karnataka One centres at meeting venues
Applications and complaints submitted by citizens during the meetings will be managed through Grama One and Karnataka One centres established at each meeting venue. District administration has been directed to ensure that the required computers and computer operators are made available to operate these centres. Services at the centres are to be provided free of cost to citizens.
Two separate queues for complaints
Government has directed officials to handle grievances under two separate queues during Prajaseva/Janaspandana meetings.
Queue 1 – New complaints:
Complaints being registered by citizens for the first time.
Queue 2 – Pending or unsatisfactorily resolved complaints:
Complaints already registered on the IPGRS portal where the maximum stipulated period of 21 days has expired without a response or where the response received was not satisfactory.
This system is intended to give priority to complaints that have remained unresolved despite being registered earlier.
Three-level review every Wednesday
All applications and complaints received during meetings chaired by the district in-charge minister and MLA will be reviewed through a three-level system every Wednesday.
Review will be conducted according to the following schedule:
- 9 am to 11 am: Taluk-level review by the concerned Tahsildar and Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer.
- 11 am to 1 pm: Sub-division-level review by the Assistant Commissioner.
- 3 pm to 5 pm: District-level review by the Deputy Commissioner.
Citizens who are not satisfied with the disposal of their complaints can personally appear before the review meetings and present their grievances. System is intended to enable the concerned citizen and departmental officials to discuss the issue directly and facilitate resolution.
Information on government schemes
Government has also instructed Sub-Divisional Officers to utilise the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) funds available with various government departments to provide citizens with information about government schemes during Prajaseva Abhiyana meeting days.
Compensatory leave for employees
Since some meetings will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays, which are holidays, Group C and Group D employees who work on those days may be granted compensatory leave at the district level. Separate orders or directions will be issued regarding leave for Group A and Group B employees.
Government said the Prajaseva Abhiyana is aimed at strengthening the public grievance redressal mechanism and ensuring that citizens receive timely and satisfactory solutions to their complaints.
