Bappalige Ambika PU College Wins Karate Championship, Secures Second Place in Kho-Kho

Puttur, 12 August 2026: Students of Bappalige Ambika Pre-University College, run by the Nattoja Foundation Trust, Puttur, have performed well in the district-level karate and Kho-Kho competitions.

The district-level karate competition was held on Sunday under the joint organisation of the Dakshina Kannada District Unit of Vidya Bharati Karnataka, Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur, and Sridevi Vidya Kendra, Devinagar–Pancha.

In the under-19 category below 36 kg, Rashmi R. secured first place. Ashitha K.R. won first place in the under-19 below 56 kg category. Both students have been selected for the state-level competition.

Rakshith S.L. secured second place in the under-19 below 54 kg category, while Devika K.D. won second place in the under-19 below 60 kg category. With these performances, Bappalige Ambika Pre-University College won the overall championship in the karate competition.

Second Place in Kho-Kho

The girls' Kho-Kho team of Ambika Pre-University College secured second place in the Kho-Kho tournament held on Friday. The team included Anushika S., Shravani H.K., Diya B.G., Chashvi Shetty, Dhanvanthari H.M., Poorvika M., B.R. Amulya, Tanya K., Hithaishini S., Manwitha M. and Ishika. The college congratulated the students for their strong performance in both sporting events.
