Puttur, 13 August 2026: A delegation of the Puthila Parivara met the Puttur Tahsildar on Wednesday and raised several issues faced by residents regarding delays in the disposal of Akram-Sakram and 94C applications, issuance of land rights documents and pahani records, and changes to Pauthi Khata.
The delegation said that several files approved under the Akram-Sakram scheme have been awaiting the issuance of rights documents and pahani records.
According to the delegation, only around 25 approved files have received rights documents and pahani records in the last three years, while several other approved cases remain pending.
The delay is causing difficulties for farmers in accessing crop insurance and agricultural loans, the delegation said.
The Puthila Parivara urged the Tahsildar to take immediate steps to issue the required documents for all eligible approved cases. It also warned that a protest would be organised under the leadership of the Puthila Parivar, along with farmers and beneficiaries, if the issue is not resolved.
94C Applications Also Pending & Podi Issues in Large Survey Numbers
The delegation also highlighted delays in applications submitted under Section 94C of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act.
Many applicants who submitted their applications several years ago are still waiting for their cases to be processed. The delegation requested the authorities to verify the pending applications and dispose of eligible cases on priority, as per the rules.
The delegation also brought attention to podi-related issues involving large survey numbers in some villages. It requested the Tahsildar to take necessary steps to resolve these issues so that land records can be properly updated.
Pauthi Khata Issues Raised
The delegation further raised problems faced by families in getting Pauthi Khata changed after the death of a family member.
Delays in completing the process at the office level are creating difficulties for the public, it said. The delegation requested that eligible Pauthi Khata cases be processed and completed at the earliest.
The delegation urged the Tahsildar to give priority to the pending Akram-Sakram and 94C applications and address related land-record issues to provide relief to farmers and other beneficiaries.
