Puttur, August 3, 2026: Southwestern Railway has intensified restoration work (Yedakumari Landslip Restoration) on a war footing following the landslip that disrupted rail traffic between Yedakumari and Shribagilu stations in Mysuru Division on August 1.
Railway personnel are working round the clock to remove mud and debris that buried sections of the railway track after the landslip. Yedakumari landslip restoration drive is aimed at resuming train operations at the earliest.
The work is being closely monitored by P. Ananth, General Manager, South Western Railway, along with Principal Heads of Departments. Mudit Mittal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Mysuru Division, is personally supervising the restoration work at the site to ensure that operations return to normal as quickly as possible.
According to Southwestern Railway, all available resources have been deployed to speed up the restoration process. Railway officials said every effort is being made to safely clear the affected section and restore normal train services at the earliest.

The landslip between Yedakumari and Shribagilu has affected rail movement on one of Karnataka's key railway corridors, prompting continuous monitoring and coordinated engineering efforts.
