Puttur, 25 September 2026: SG Group, known for its popular beverages including Bindu Mineral Water, Bindu Jeera and SipOn, is taking another step towards social responsibility by giving importance to cleanliness and sanitation.
Company has come forward to construct a modern toilet facility at Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur at an estimated cost of around ₹50 lakh.
Foundation stone was laid on September 24. Ceremony was held under the guidance of temple chief priest Vedamurthy Vasantha Kedilaya. Bindu Group Executive Director Ranjitha Shankar performed the foundation stone-laying ceremony.
‘Bindu is an asset to society’
Temple Management Committee President Eshwara Bhat Panjigudde said renovation works at Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple are being carried out in phases. He said there was also a need for a good toilet facility for devotees visiting the temple.
“When we approached Bindu Group owner Sathya Shankar with a request, he immediately responded and came forward to construct a modern toilet facility at a cost of around ₹50 lakh,” he said. Eshwara Bhat said Bindu Group has shown social responsibility by contributing a part of its business towards society. “Bindu is no longer just a business organisation. It has grown into an asset of society,” he said.
Cleanliness protects health and environment: Ranjitha Shankar
Speaking after laying the foundation stone, Bindu Group Executive Director Ranjitha Shankar said it was a matter of gratitude for the organisation to get an opportunity to serve Lord Mahalingeshwara.
“Our journey started with ‘Bindu’ and has now expanded like the ‘Sindhu’. The support of the people of Puttur, our relatives and the blessings of Lord Mahalingeshwara have made this possible,” she said.
She said cleanliness and hygiene receive special attention because the company is involved in the food industry. “Cleanliness is essential to protect the principle that health is wealth,” she said. She added that a well-maintained toilet facility is essential along with a clean temple premises. “A good toilet facility protects not only individual health but also the health of the environment. We consider this our small contribution to society along with our achievements,” she said.

Temple Management Committee members Nalini P. Shetty, Eshwara Bedekar, Dinesh P.V., Krishnaveni, Subhash Rai Bellippady, Mahabala Rai Valathadka and Vinaya Suvarna were present.
Temple Executive Officer K.V. Srinivas, Office Manager Harish Shetty, Urban Prem engineer Ganesh Bhat from Bengaluru, Engineer P.G. Jagannivasa Rao, Nadubailuguttu Gopalakrishna Poojary, Prakash Gowda, P.G. Chandrashekar Rao, Lokesh Paddayuru, Rohanraj, Sudesh Chikkaputtur and contractor Rakshith were also present.
A special prayer was offered at the temple before the foundation stone-laying ceremony. Ranjitha Shankar was also felicitated by the temple authorities.
