Bengaluru, 7 September 2026: Karnataka government has ordered a major reshuffle of IAS officers, including changes in key posts in the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and the appointment of 2024-batch IAS officers as Assistant Commissioners in Seven districts. Transfers and postings were issued on September 7, 2026, with immediate effect.
In Bengaluru, Dr. Rakesh Kumar K, IAS (KN:2012), Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Bengaluru South City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Area. He succeeds Ramesh K N, IAS, who has been transferred as Special Commissioner (Health and Education), Greater Bengaluru Authority.
Ramesh K N, also a 2012-batch IAS officer, takes over from Venkatachalapathy R, IAS, who has been transferred as Additional Commissioner (Development), Bengaluru Central City Corporation.
Shilpa Nag C.T., IAS (KN:2014), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Special Commissioner (FECC, Elections, Disaster Management, Public Relations and Coordination), Greater Bengaluru Authority, replacing Sushama Godbole, IAS.
Seven 2024-batch IAS officers posted as Assistant Commissioners
Government has also posted seven 2024-batch IAS officers as Assistant Commissioners in different subdivisions.
Pururaj Singh Solanki, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Chikkamagaluru Sub Division, replacing S. Ravi, KAS.
Ritika Verma, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Kalaburagi Sub Division, replacing Sahithya M. Aladakatti, IAS.
Zufishan Haque, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Vijayapura Sub Division, replacing Gurunath Shivaputrappa Dhadde, KAS.
Abhinav Jain, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Bidar Sub Division, replacing Mohammed Shakil, KAS.
Khode Sameer Prakash, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Savanur Sub Division, Haveri district, replacing Vijaykumar H.B., KAS.
Ramya R, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Karwar Sub Division, Uttara Kannada district, replacing Shalam Hussain, KAS.
Nagendra Babu Kumar, IAS (KN:2024) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner, Lingasugur Sub Division, Raichuru district, replacing Baswanappa Kalshetty, KAS.
Appointments follow a separate order issued the same day transferring seven KAS Assistant Commissioners from these subdivisions to other posts.
Government notification states that the transfers were issued with the approval of the Election Commission of India, through a letter dated September 7, 2026. All postings are effective immediately and will continue until further orders.
