Bengaluru, 7 September 2026: Karnataka government has transferred four IPS officers and issued new postings, including the appointment of Sam Varghese, IPS (KN:2022), as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Mangaluru City.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on September 7, 2026, Anita Bhimappa Haddannavar, IPS (KN:2014), Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southwest, Bengaluru, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She replaces Sam Varghese, who has been transferred to Mangaluru.
Dr. Ram L Arasiddi, IPS (KN:2018), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru City.
Lakshmi Ganesh K, IPS (KN:2020), who was also awaiting posting, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southwest, Bengaluru, replacing Anita Bhimappa Haddannavar.
Meanwhile, Sam Varghese, IPS (KN:2022), who was serving as Superintendent of Police, CID, Bengaluru, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Mangaluru City, in the vacant post.
Three posts declared equivalent to SP, Mandya cadre post Government has also declared three posts equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Superintendent of Police, Mandya, under Rule 12 of the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
The posts are:
- Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department
- Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southwest, Bengaluru
- Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru City
All the transfers and postings are effective immediately and will remain in force until further orders. Notification was issued in the name of the Governor of Karnataka by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Services-4).
