Puttur, 20 September 2026: Sanjeevini Monthly Market was inaugurated at Kille Maidan in Puttur on September 19 as part of the 69th Ganeshotsava celebrations. Market has been organised to showcase and sell agricultural and non-agricultural products made by members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The initiative is organised jointly by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihoods, Sanjeevini Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Puttur-Kadaba Taluk Panchayat and Sanjeevini Gram Panchayat-level federations.
Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Naveen Bhandari, City Municipal Commissioner Vidya S. Kale, Puttur Taluk Five Guarantee Implementation Committee President Umanath Shetty and Kille Public Ganeshotsava Committee President Abhijith inaugurated the market by lighting the lamp.
They wished the organisers well and appealed to the public to support the SHG members. All Sanjeevini federations from Puttur and Kadaba taluks are participating in the market.
Municipal and Taluk Panchayat staff, women entrepreneurs and office-bearers and members of various Sanjeevini federations were present. Chaithra Madhuchandra, Secretary of Mahalingeshwara Sanjeevini Federation, Munduru, and Joint Secretary of Eesha Sanjeevini Federation, welcomed the gathering. DAY-NRLM Cluster Supervisor Namitha compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

The market offers a variety of locally made and farm-based products. Visitors can find naturally grown vegetables, plants, sugarcane juice, buttermilk, puja materials, coconut-shell crafts, homemade household products, happala, sandige, pickles, snacks and sweets.
A special attraction is wine made from Gandhari chilli, black grapes and star fruit. Market provides an opportunity for visitors to support women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Group members while purchasing locally made products.
