Passenger Reactions and Future Prospects
The extension has been welcomed by regular commuters, though some, like X user
@PiseKartik71168
, have pointed out potential timing issues, particularly between Bagewadi and Vijayapura, suggesting that the doubled track might reduce travel time. Another user, @AshwinG94998213
, praised the extension until December 2025 but urged the railway to convert the special express into a permanent daily service to reduce fares and improve accessibility.This move aligns with ongoing demands from passenger associations and local MPs to regularize the service, which has been operating as a Train on Demand (ToD) special since its inception three years ago. Despite repeated requests, the Railway Ministry has yet to respond to calls for making it a regular train.
