The notification, released on Thursday (June 26, 2025) is available at the official website ssc.gov.in, marking the start of the recruitment manner for one in all India’s biggest  Class 10th-level govt job opportunities. With the application window open from June 26 to July 24, 2025, candidates across the country are gearing up to use for those coveted posts in numerous significant govt ministries, depts, and offices.

The SSC MTS 2025 recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar posts in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN).   • For MTS and Havaldar (CBN): 18 to 25 years (born between August 2, 2000, and August 1, 2007).

  • Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms (e.g., SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years).
  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens, Tibetan refugees who arrived before January 1, 1962, or individuals of Indian origin from specified countries are eligible.
  • Additional Requirement for Havaldar: Candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license and meet specific physical standards, as outlined in the notification.
Selection Process
The SSC MTS 2025 recruitment follows a two-stage selection process:
  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE): The CBE consists of two mandatory sessions:
    Session I: No negative marking, covering Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving. Session II: Negative marking of one mark per wrong answer, covering General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. Both sessions last 45 minutes each and are conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 regional languages.
  1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST): Applicable only for Havaldar posts, candidates must meet physical requirements, such as walking and cycling tests, as detailed in the notification.

How to Apply for SSC MTS 2025

  2. Register: New users must click on the “Register Now” button to obtain a registration number and password. Existing users can log in with their credentials.
  3. Fill the Application Form: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and post preferences.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and matriculation certificate as per the specifications in Appendix-B of the notification. A new feature requires candidates to take a live photo during the application process.
  5. Pay the Application Fee: The fee is ₹100 for General/OBC candidates, while SC/ST, women, PwD, and ex-servicemen are exempt. Payment can be made online or offline.
  6. Submit and Save: Review all details, submit the form, and download a copy for future reference.
The application correction window will be announced in the notification, allowing candidates to make necessary changes post-submission.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The SSC MTS 2025 CBE is designed to test candidates’ basic skills:
  • Session I: 40 questions (120 marks) on Numerical and Mathematical Ability (20 questions) and Reasoning Ability (20 questions).
  • Session II: 50 questions (150 marks) on General Awareness (25 questions) and English Language and Comprehension (25 questions).
  • Key Topics:
