Puttur, July 28: With frequent rain holidays affecting classroom learning across Dakshina Kannada, Ambika Pre-University College, Bappalige, has introduced online classes on government-declared holiday days, ensuring students do not lose valuable academic time.
The initiative is aimed at helping students continue their studies, particularly those preparing for competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE, despite schools and colleges remaining closed because of heavy rain.
Launching the online learning programme, Dr. H. Madhava Bhat H., retired Principal and Management Committee Member of Ambika Group of Educational Institutions, said that every day, hour and minute is crucial for students aspiring to excel in competitive examinations.
"With changing academic demands, students need consistent preparation. Conducting online classes during rain holidays is a timely initiative that prevents learning loss and helps students make productive use of their time," he said.
Dr. Bhat added that technology can play a key role in ensuring students remain connected to their studies even when adverse weather forces educational institutions to close.
Presiding over the programme, Subrahmanya Nattoja, President of the Ambika Group of Educational Institutions, said the institution has always placed students' interests first.
"Ambika successfully introduced online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. With rain holidays becoming frequent in Dakshina Kannada, we have revived the initiative so that students do not miss important lessons. The objective is to keep them academically engaged and maintain continuity in their preparation," he said.
K. Kishore, Principal of Ambika NEET Academy, was present. The programme was compered by Satyajit Upadhyaya, Principal of Ambika Pre-University College, Nellikatte.
