Mangalore University Invites Guest Faculty Applications for 34 PG Programmes

Mangaluru, July 28: Mangalore University has invited online applications from eligible candidates for the appointment of Guest Faculty for its postgraduate (PG) departments for the 2026-27 academic year. The recruitment covers 34 disciplines, offering opportunities for qualified postgraduates aspiring to teach at the university level.

According to a notification issued by the Registrar's Office, candidates possessing a minimum of 55% marks in the relevant postgraduate degree from a recognised university are eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are eligible with 50% marks, in accordance with the prescribed norms.

The vacancies are available in a wide range of disciplines, including Kannada, English, History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Journalism and Mass Communication, Geography, Library and Information Science, Biochemistry, Medical Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Electronics, Materials Science, Botany, Zoology, Cyber Security, Food Science & Nutrition, Biotechnology, Human Consciousness & Yogic Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Computer Science/MCA, M.P.Ed. & B.P.Ed., MBA (Tourism), MBA, Statistics, MBA (International Business), M.Ed. and Commerce.

Eligible candidates must submit their applications through the online portal on or before August 1, 2026. Applicants are required to upload self-attested copies of their SSLC, undergraduate and postgraduate marks cards and certificates, along with research publications, if available, in SCOPUS, Web of Science (WoS) or UGC-CARE-listed journals. Original documents must be produced at the time of the interview.

The application fee has been fixed at ₹250 for general category candidates and ₹125 for SC/ST/Category-I applicants. Candidates applying for more than one programme must pay an additional ₹100 for each extra application. The university has clarified that the application fee is non-refundable.

The notification further states that late or incomplete applications will not be considered, and applicants must provide a valid email ID and mobile number while submitting the online application. The university has also reserved the right to appoint guest faculty only in departments where sufficient student admissions create the need for teaching staff.

Interested candidates can submit their applications through the Mangalore University online recruitment portal before the deadline.
