Puttur, July 28: A Social Audit Gram Sabha was held at the Olamogru Gram Panchayat office on Monday (July 27) to review development works implemented under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for 2026-27 and the 15th Finance Commission grants for 2025-26.
The meeting, chaired by Tilothama, Supervisor of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, focused on transparency, accountability and public participation in the implementation of government-funded development projects.
Officials informed the Gram Sabha that 54 development works were completed during the 2025-26 financial year, generating 4,310 person-days of employment under MGNREGS. Details of material expenditure and project implementation were presented as part of the social audit.
Social Audit Taluk Manager Jayalakshmi briefed the gathering on the audit findings, while Taluk Coordinator Bharath Raj K. explained the progress of MGNREGS works. Gram Panchayat Development Officer Subhash Chandra K. presented details of projects executed under the 15th Finance Commission and MGNREGS. MGNREGS Civil Engineer Srilakshmi and Horticulture Department Engineer Akanksha also shared technical information on the completed works.
Former Gram Panchayat Vice-President Ashraf Ujirodi, former members Mahesh Rai Keri, Sheenappa Naik Mudal, B.C. Chitra, Sundari and Vinod Shetty Mudal, social activist Rajesh K.R. Parpunja, KPS Working President Rakshith Rai Mugeru, Sanjeevini Federation representatives Chandrika Rai and Sunitha, MGNREGS beneficiaries and local residents participated in the meeting.
Gram Panchayat Secretary Jayanthi K. welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Panchayat staff members Janaki, Gulabi, Keshava, Lokanath and Mohan K.P. assisted in organising the programme.
