Bengaluru, July 27: Govardhana Kshetra, the landmark spiritual centre established under the guidance of His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru, Pontiff of Puttige Matha, witnessed a memorable spiritual occasion as His Holiness Sri Subudhendra Tirtha Sripadaru, Pontiff of Sri Kshetra Mantralaya Math, paid a visit to the shrine on Monday.
The Mantralaya Pontiff visited Govardhana Kshetra at the invitation of Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru and offered special prayers to Sri Govardhana-dhari Sri Krishna. He later toured the temple complex and appreciated its architectural grandeur, spiritual atmosphere and the unique vision behind its establishment.
Addressing devotees, Sri Subudhendra Tirtha Sripadaru praised Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru for creating Govardhana Kshetra as a centre of devotion and spiritual learning. He said the shrine beautifully reflects the scriptural teaching that the Supreme Lord resides in the cave of every devotee's heart.
"Govardhana Gopala is the eternal protector of the universe. The installation of Lord Krishna here conveys a profound spiritual message and makes this kshetra a truly meaningful place of worship," he said.
Recalling the long-standing spiritual and scriptural relationship between Puttige Matha and Mantralaya Math, the visiting seer expressed happiness at witnessing the growth of Govardhana Kshetra and meeting devotees gathered for the occasion.
Responding to the visit, Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru drew a parallel with the Govardhana Leela, saying that just as Lord Indra humbled himself before Sri Krishna after realising His divine glory, the visit of the Mantralaya Pontiff filled Govardhana Kshetra with the same spirit of devotion and humility.
Sri Subudhendra Tirtha Sripadaru was accorded a traditional welcome with Purna Kumbha, Vedic chanting and ceremonial honours. Scholars from various monasteries, Vedic students, office-bearers of Govardhana Kshetra, devotees and distinguished guests participated in the programme, making it a spiritually enriching event.
The visit highlighted the enduring spiritual bond between Puttige Matha and Mantralaya Math while reaffirming Govardhana Kshetra's growing importance as a centre for Sanatana Dharma, devotion and Vedic tradition in Bengaluru.
