Bengaluru, July 27: Motorists travelling to Bengaluru during the night, including those arriving from coastal Karnataka via National Highway-4 (NH-4), should expect temporary traffic restrictions on the Peenya Elevated Flyover (Dr Sri Shivakumara Swamiji Flyover) until August 5.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued the advisory to facilitate asphalt resurfacing work being carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
According to the advisory, all vehicles travelling towards Bengaluru city on the Peenya Elevated Flyover will be restricted from July 27 to August 5, daily between 10 pm and 5 am. On Saturdays and Sundays, the restriction will be in force from 12 midnight to 5 am.
The closure applies to the stretch between the Kennametal Widia Upper Ramp and the SRS Down Ramp on NH-4.
Alternate Route
Vehicles coming from Nelamangala towards Bengaluru should exit near the Kennametal Factory and continue on the NH-4 surface road and service road up to 8th Mile. From there, motorists should proceed via: Dasarahalli, Jalahalli Cross, Peenya Police Station Junction, SRS Junction, Goraguntepalya. The diversion is expected to help maintain traffic flow while resurfacing work is carried out on the elevated corridor.
As many people from Puttur and Dakshina Kannada travel to Bengaluru overnight by private vehicles and buses, commuters are advised to factor in additional travel time and follow the diversion signs during the restriction period.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have requested motorists to cooperate and follow the temporary traffic arrangements until the work is completed.
