Mangaluru, 30 August 2026: Karnataka Congress government is committed to the overall development of the Kumbar community and will work sincerely to ensure that various government schemes and welfare facilities meant for the community reach beneficiaries effectively, said Dr. Srinivas Velu, Chairman of the Karnataka Kumbar Development Corporation.
He was speaking after interacting with Congress workers from the Kumbar community and receiving their grievances during his visit to the District Congress Bhavan at Mallikatta, Mangaluru, on Saturday.
Dr. Velu said the problems and demands raised by the community would be brought to the government's attention and efforts would be made to address them in a phased manner.
He also said dedicated workers from the community would be given suitable opportunities within the party. He called upon community members to work together to promote the development of the Kumbar community and strengthen the party organisation.
Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee president K. Harish Kumar welcomed Dr. Velu and delivered the introductory remarks.
Sadashiva Bangera of Bantwal, Sudhakar Kulal, Mahesh Kodikal, Srinivas Bondel, Sadananda, Sadashiva Kulal of Pandeshwar, Jayasheela Adyanthaya, Chandrakala Jogi, Nancy Noronha and others were present. Tejaswi Raj proposed the vote of thanks.
