Karnataka Government Promotes 7 Section Officers as Under Secretaries

Bengaluru, 28 September 2026: Karnataka Government has granted provisional promotion to seven Section Officers of the Secretariat to the post of Under Secretary (Residual Basic Cadre) in the pay scale of ₹83,700–₹1,55,200.

Promotions and postings have been ordered with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders, according to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on September 28.

Lokesh T.    Under Secretary, Labour Department
Hemamalini N.    Under Secretary, Karnataka Law Commission
Ravikumar S.    Under Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department (State      Protocol-I)
Gayathri    Under Secretary, Home Department (Law and Order)
Gururaj J.R.    Under Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department (e-Governance)

Postings include both vacant positions and posts that became available following the movement of other officers.

Transfers of Under Secretaries

Government has also ordered the transfer of several serving Under Secretaries in the Secretariat in the public and administrative interest.

Among the officers transferred are Nagarathna V. Patil, Vasavamba P., Yadukumar R., Mallikarjuna Ramachandrappa, Sandeep B.K. and K. Jagadish.

Their new assignments include posts in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Home Department, Revenue Department, and School Education and Literacy Department.

Notification also cancels certain earlier transfer orders involving Shubha Prakash B.S., N.S. Shashikumar, Anitha S.M. and T.V. Sunandamma, while specifying fresh postings or continuation in their respective positions.

Government further directed officers who are being relieved from their existing posts as part of the orders to report to the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department for further posting.

Notification was issued by Prasanna Kumar V., Under Secretary to Government (Services-6), Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, under the orders of the Governor of Karnataka.
