Sona Shani Vara at Kemminje Temple on September 5 and 12

Puttur, September 4: Sona Shani Vara will be observed at the Sri Subrahmanya Sri Mahavishnu Temple, Kemminje, on September 5 and 12. 

As part of the religious observance, devotees can participate in various special sevas, including Balivadu Seva (₹100), Milk Payasa offering to the deity (₹100) and Special Satyanarayana Puja (₹150). A Mahapuja and Annasantarpane (community meal) will also be held at the temple at noon on both days.

Daily Nagathambila Seva

A Nagathambila Seva will be conducted daily at the temple’s Nagabana at 9.30 a.m. Temple management committee has appealed to devotees to participate in the religious programmes in large numbers. Sri Shanmukha Subrahmanya Sri Maha Vishnu Temple is located in Kemminje of Puttur taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. Lord Subrahmanya is worshipped here in the form of Shanmukha Subrahmanya, while Lord Maha Vishnu is also worshipped as a principal deity.

Subrahmanya Shashti is among the temple's major annual religious observances. Shashti, the sixth lunar day, is traditionally associated with Lord Subrahmanya, with the Shukla Paksha Shashti of Margashira Masa considered particularly significant. Special pujas and abhishekas are conducted during the occasion.
