Puttur, 4 September 2026: Sneha Yuvaka Mandal and Sneha Mahila Mandal of Parpunja jointly organised the 22nd Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at the Ramajalu Garadi premises in Parpunja on September 4. Programme was inaugurated by K. Sanjeeva Poojary Koorelu, Administrative Trustee of Ramajalu Garadi, by breaking a coconut and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeeva Poojary appreciated the Sneh Youth and Women’s Mandals for organising the Janmashtami celebrations in a grand manner every year. He wished that the organisation would continue to receive the blessings of Lord Krishna and the blessings of Brahmabaiderkala of Ramajalu.

Traditional Games and Competitions
Following the inaugural programme, a series of traditional and recreational competitions were organised for men, women and children. Competitions for men included pole climbing, pot breaking, tug-of-war, sack race and stick race. Women participated in pot breaking, tug-of-war, Lucky Circle and ball-throwing competitions. Children took part in Radha-Krishna fancy dress and chickpea-picking competitions, among other activities.
Several guests attended the celebrations and conveyed their best wishes. They included Hindu leader Arun Kumar Puthila, Sahaj Rai Balajja, founder-president of Vijay Samrat Charitable Trust, Prakash Chandra Rai Kaikara, president of Kumbra Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, and Harihar Kodibail, proprietor of Shivakripa Auditorium.
Felicitation and Prize Distribution
Valedictory programme was held in the evening, along with the felicitation of achievers and distribution of prizes to the winners of various competitions. Sneha Yuvaka Mandal honorary president Premraj Rai Parpunja, President Ashwin Poojary, Secretary Kishan Gowda, Sneha Mahila Mandal honorary president Baby Rai, President Prameela S., Secretary Rekha S. and other office-bearers were present.
