Vitla, 19 September 2026: Odiyooru Shri Gramavikas Yojana will celebrate its silver jubilee with the Odiyooru Shri Vikasavahini Sangama at the Rajangana of Odiyooru Shri Gurudevadatta Samsthana on September 20.
Programme is being organised by the Silver Jubilee Committee of the Odiyooru Shri Gramavikas Yojana, operated by the Odiyooru Shri Charitable Trust, in association with the Odiyooru Shri Vividhoddesha Souharda Sahakari Sangha. Programme will begin at 9.30 am.
Gramavikas Yojana was launched in 2001 as an outcome of the social vision of Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji, with the motto “Samskara, Sahakara, Sanghatane and Samruddhi” - values, cooperation, organisation and prosperity. Through the Odiyooru Shri Vikasavahini self-help groups, the initiative expanded its activities across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod districts, completing 25 years of service.
According to the organisers, the project has focused on building an addiction-free society, promoting values among people at the grassroots level and extending economic cooperation to vulnerable sections to help them become part of the social mainstream.
Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji will deliver the blessings message at the programme. Sadhvi Sri Matanandamayi will also be present. District in-charge Minister U.T. Khader, MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta, and MLAs U. Rajesh Naik, Ashok Kumar Rai, V. Sunil Kumar, Harish Poonja, Suresh Shetty Gurme, D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Umanath Kotian, Manjunath Bhandary, Yashpal Suvarna, Kishore Kumar Botyadi, Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty and Bhagirathi Murulya are among those expected to attend.
Former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former ministers B. Nagaraja Shetty and B. Ramanath Rai, MESCOM Chairman Harish Kumar, Mumbai-based entrepreneur Vamaya B. Shetty, CAMPCO President S.R. Sathishchandra, former MLC Prathapsimha Nayak, Mumbai Odiyooru Shri Gurudeva Seva Balaga president Damodar S. Shetty, Suggi Sudhakar Shetty of Hubballi and Pune Odiyooru Shri Gurudeva Seva Balaga president Prabhakar V. Shetty will also participate.
On the occasion, Dr. Adhip K. Shetty, president of the Mumbai Odiyooru Shri Yuva Seva Balaga, will be presented with the Sadhana Award, the organisers said.
