Puttur, 24 September 2026: Onam was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Akshaya College in Puttur. Jayant Nadubail, President of Akshaya Group of Educational Institutions, inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayant Nadubail said Onam is the state festival of Kerala and is also celebrated by people in the border areas with a spirit of harmony. He said celebrating festivals of different states helps strengthen unity in the country. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a harmonious way of life and preserving the idea of a united India.

Various competitions were organised as part of the celebrations. Chenda Melam was a special attraction of the programme.

Navaneetha, lecturer in the Pre-University College, delivered the introductory remarks. Archana, III B.Com, welcomed the gathering, while Hariprasad, III B.A., proposed the vote of thanks. Varsha, a II Commerce student, compered the programme in Malayalam.
Celebrations brought together students and staff in a spirit of cultural exchange and harmony.
