Puttur, September 2, 2026: Sindhoora Shetty, a first-year BCA student of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, has earned the IBR Achiever title from the India Book of Records for creating a black-and-white sketch of legendary actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin using the scribble art technique.
18-year-old artist created the artwork on chart paper using a black marker pen. The scribble art technique involves creating an image through seemingly random, continuous and circular patterns. Her achievement was officially confirmed by the India Book of Records on July 9, 2026, when she was aged 18 years and one month.
Sindhoora, a resident of Kelaje Sai Prasada House in Nada village, is the daughter of Krishna Shetty and Bharathi Shetty. She completed her high school education at Government School, Nada, and her pre-university education at SDM Pre-University College, Ujire.
She is currently pursuing her first year of BCA in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) at St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur. India Book of Records recognition is the latest milestone in Sindhoora's artistic journey. Earlier, she attracted attention by creating a typographic artwork of poet Sarojini Naidu using 46 A4 sheets, incorporating lines from Naidu's poems into the artwork.
Her artistic talent was also recognised during her school years, when she won several awards for her creative abilities. Latest recognition has further encouraged Sindhoora to pursue her passion for art while continuing her academic studies in artificial intelligence and machine learning. She aspires to achieve many more milestones in the years ahead by combining her interest in technology with her passion for creative art.
