Puttur, 26 September 2026: Preparations for Putturda Piligaobbu-4, a cultural event celebrating the traditional heritage of Puttur and Tulunadu, have begun with the performance of the Chappara Muhurta.
Chappara Muhurta was held with traditional religious rituals at the Devaramaaru grounds of the Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur, where the main event will be conducted on October 17. Programme is being organised under the auspices of Vijaya Samrat Charitable Trust (R), Puttur.
Putturda Piligaobbu is being organised with the objective of showcasing the cultural traditions of Puttur and highlighting the richness of Tulunadu's folk arts and traditions. The Chappara Muhurta marks an important preliminary ritual ahead of the main programme.
Organisers said the event is intended to provide a platform to celebrate local culture and traditional artistic practices while bringing people together through a cultural programme.
Vijaya Samrat Puttur founder-president Sahaj Rai Balajja, Piligaobbu Committee president Puttur Umesh Nayak, general secretary Sharath Alva Koorelu, working president Rathan Rai Kumbra, co-coordinator Rajesh Rai Parpunja, vice-presidents Shankar Bhat Eshanya, Pavan Shetty Kambalathadda and Kiran Rai Balnadu, and other office-bearers and committee members were present.
Among those present were secretaries Dhanush Hosamane, joint secretaries Preetham Shetty Perne and Gautham Gowda, organising secretaries Arun Rai Anaje and Mahesh Acharya, treasurer Ashok Adoor, and committee members including Ranjith Shetty Gubya, Jagadish Nayak, Sharath Balnadu, Sachin Patte, Bharat Chanila, Sharath Mundas, Manohar Barimaru, Pradeep Rai Madavu, Abhilash and Harsharaj.
Organisers are now making preparations for the fourth edition of Putturda Piligaobbu, scheduled for October 17 at the Devaramaaru grounds of the Mahalingeshwara Temple.
